HIAS Inc. – Mission, Vision & Core Principles

Mission Statement

Hazleton Immigrant Advocacy Services Inc. (“HIAS Inc.”) exists to stand beside immigrant families with clear information, practical guidance, and respectful support as they navigate life in the United States.
Our mission is to provide reliable, community-centered assistance that empowers individuals to understand their options, complete required processes with confidence, and access resources that help them settle, grow, and contribute to their new home.

We do not offer legal representation. Instead, we focus on education, safe guidance, and administrative support rooted in accuracy, dignity, and trust.
Our work is shaped by the realities of the Hazleton region and the needs of the people we serve—new arrivals, long-term residents, and families seeking stability and opportunity.

Vision Statement

We envision a community where every immigrant, regardless of background or circumstance, can access clear information, feel welcomed, and take steps toward a secure future with confidence.
HIAS Inc. seeks to be a steady and trustworthy presence in Hazleton and surrounding areas: a place where individuals are treated with fairness, respect, and compassion, and where assistance is provided without intimidation, discrimination, or judgment.

Our long-term vision is to contribute to a stronger, better-informed community where immigrants can flourish—economically, socially, and personally—through the support of a nonprofit organization built on transparency, accountability, and genuine care.
